Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the Disneyland Resort offers an extraordinary experience where visitors are transported to the fictional planet of Batuu. This immersive land captivates guests with its diverse collection of alien species, astonishing creatures, droids, impressive spaceships, and intricately designed buildings and terrain. At the heart of Batuu lies Black Spire Outpost, once a bustling trading hub along popular routes. However, as hyperspace travel has gained popularity, more traders diverted their attention to these new paths, leaving Batuu behind. Consequently, the planet became an ideal place for those seeking anonymity, away from the prying eyes of the First Order. Nonetheless, Batuu still thrives as a vibrant hub for smugglers, traders, and adventuresome individuals.

As you can see from its description, this area of the park is a fully immersive experience. Whether you love Star Wars or not, this area is a must-visit… even if just to marvel at its attention to detail. It features notable attractions like Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Both attractions are quite popular and give guests a unique opportunity to experience the world of Star Wars in a way that only Disney could imagine.

Update… Disney has replaced FastPass and MaxPass with the brand new Disney Genie and Disney Genie+. The new system is very similar to Disneyland’s MaxPass as it is an add-on purchase allowing you to make “Lightning Lane” reservations throughout your day in the parks. The Rides – 2 Attractions

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

This simulator attraction allows you to fly the Millennium Falcon, a dream come true for many Star Wars fans! There are three “jobs” onboard – pilot, gunner, and engineer. The pilot definitely has the best view yet the most difficult job. I highly recommend that younger children be gunners as it’s the easiest job. Engineers sit in the back, but unlike the gunners, they get to do more than simply hit a couple of buttons.

Height Restrictions: 38 inches or taller

Attraction Length: About 4-5 minutes
Who Should Enjoy: Anyone who meets the height requirement and can handle simulators

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

You don’t have to be a Star Wars fan to appreciate the level of detail on this attraction. From start to finish, this ride is quite an immersive experience. While Disney rides are known for their storylines, this ride takes it a step further. You become a prisoner of the First Order. The cast members running the ride never break character making the experience unlike any other.

As far as the ride itself, be prepared for a trackless ride as you escape from the clutches of Kylo Ren and the First Order. Also, be aware that there is a small drop near the end of the ride. This ride uses a similar mechanism as Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! in California Adventure, but it is a much smaller drop.
