The Complete Guide to Attractions and Rides at Hollywood Studios 2024
In the last few years, numerous attractions and rides at Hollywood Studios have been introduced. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is probably one of the biggest additions to the park as well as Toy Story Land. Both areas include new attractions, shops, and restaurants making Disney’s Hollywood Studios a very popular park at the moment! And we can’t forget to mention the introduction of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in March 2020. This family-friendly attraction will appeal to all ages as you join your favorite Disney characters on a picnic that goes terribly wrong!
With all of the new attractions and rides at Hollywood Studios, this park has become one of the busiest of the four Walt Disney World theme parks. But overall, the latest additions are amazing and definitely worth seeing!

Hollywood Studios Lightning Lane Attractions
If you haven’t visited the parks in a while, Genie+ has been revised and given a new name! The Walt Disney World Resort features both a Lightning Lane Multi Pass (giving you the ability to pre-book up to 3 attractions per day) and a Lightning Lane Single Pass (available for one or two top-tier attractions in the park). Disney Resort guests can purchase and pre-book their reservations 7 days prior to their first day in the parks, and remaining guests can purchase and pre-book 3 days prior to their vacation.

Animation Courtyard – 4 Attractions
Animation Courtyard offers various experiences centered around animation. At Disney Junior Play and Dance, guests can engage with beloved Disney Junior characters. Star Wars Launch Bay allows visitors to meet select Star Wars characters. And finally, at Walt Disney Presents, guests can embark on a captivating journey through the life of Walt Disney.

Dance with your favorite Disney Junior characters in this fun show designed for youngsters.

Created for the ultimate Star Wars fan, take an immersive tour of this gallery featuring costumes, models, artwork, and even authentic movie props. This attraction gives you an opportunity to meet Chewbacca and Darth Vader!

Walt Disney Presents
The museum-style attraction offers an opportunity to view memorabilia from the life of Walt Disney. Visitors can admire a variety of items, such as a model of Main Street, U.S.A., Oscar trophies, and concept art for upcoming attractions. Additionally, guests can occasionally meet characters and enjoy exclusive previews of upcoming movies.

Hollywood Boulevard – 1 Attraction

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Join Minnie and Mickey for a picnic in the park only for everything to suddenly go wrong! This trackless ride will take you through multiple scenes featuring all of your favorite Disney characters. Visit a carnival, go under the sea, and even take a dance class with Daisy!

For fans of Disney’s Frozen, this 60-minute show allows you to sing along to your favorite songs from the movie.

This very popular show gives you an inside look at how movies create action sequences as well as seemingly dangerous stunts.

Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
This 3D simulator experience features your favorite Star Wars characters as you venture out with C-3PO as your “accidental” pilot when your flight launches prematurely. Be prepared for some simulator turbulence as your ship is intercepted by the First Order who are searching for a Rebel spy on board!

Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie
Featuring brand new, never-before-seen animation, this short movie showcases some favorite vacation memories of Mickey and Minnie.

Grand Avenue – 1 Attraction
Grand Avenue is renowned for its homage to The Muppets, housing popular attractions such as Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo. Previously named “Muppets Courtyard,” it was later rebranded as “Grand Avenue.”

This 3D show features Jim Henson’s Muppet characters in a humorous show for all ages. Be prepared for live-in-theater effects!

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – 2 Attractions
Whether you love Star Wars or not, this area of Hollywood Studios is a must-visit. It features notable attractions like Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. These rides offer fully immersive experiences that can be enjoyed by both fans and non-fans of the franchise.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
This brand-new simulator attraction allows you to fly the Millennium Falcon, a dream come true for many Star Wars fans! There are three “jobs” onboard – pilot, gunner, and engineer. The pilot definitely has the best view yet the most difficult job. I highly recommend that younger children be gunners as it’s the easiest job. Engineers sit in the back, but unlike the gunners, they get to do more than simply hit a couple of buttons.

- Lightning Lane: Yes (Multi Pass Group 1)
- Attraction Length: About 4-5 minutes
- Who Should Ride: Anyone who meets the height requirement
- When to Visit: First hour or last hour of the day (or anytime with a LL Multi Pass)

- Additional Info: This ride offers Rider Switch for those who have guests in their party who can’t or don’t want to ride an attraction. Rider Switch allows one adult to wait with non-riders, while the rest enjoy the attraction. The waiting adult can then board without waiting in the regular line. (Be sure to check in with a Cast Member with your entire party if you wish to utilize this option.) Also, this ride offers a Single Rider Line for those who don’t mind riding alone without their party.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
You don’t have to be a Star Wars fan to appreciate the level of detail on this attraction. From start to finish, this ride is quite an immersive experience. While Disney rides are known for their storylines, this ride takes it a step further. You become a prisoner of the First Order. The cast members running the ride never break character making the experience unlike any other.
As far as the ride itself, be prepared for a trackless ride as you escape from the clutches of Kylo Ren and the First Order. Also, be aware that there is a small drop near the end of the ride. This ride uses a similar mechanism as The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™, but it is a much smaller drop.

Sunset Boulevard – 4 Attractions
Sunset Boulevard is a popular area within the park. The iconic Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, often viewed as one of Disney World’s best rides, immediately catches your eye upon entering the boulevard. There is also a live show featuring Belle and the Beast, an indoor show for Lightning McQueen fans, and an epic roller coaster that will have you singing Aerosmith for the rest of the day.
Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage
This 30-minute live show features a shortened retelling of the entire fairy tale.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
This indoor roller coaster features music from Aerosmith as you speed through traffic jams on your way to a concert. Be prepared for a dark ride (we couldn’t see much in terms of the track) as well as three inversions (two rollover loops and one corkscrew.)

- Attraction Length: About 90 seconds
- Who Should Ride: Anyone who meets the height requirement and loves thrills!
- When to Visit: First hour of the day or anytime with a LL Multi Pass

- Additional Info: This ride offers Rider Switch for those who have guests in their party who can’t or don’t want to ride an attraction. Rider Switch allows one adult to wait with non-riders, while the rest enjoy the attraction. The waiting adult can then board without waiting in the regular line. (Be sure to check in with a Cast Member with your entire party if you wish to utilize this option.) Also, this ride offers a Single Rider Line for those who don’t mind riding alone without their party.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™
Based on the famous television show, take a ride on an elevator in an abandoned hotel where a group of patrons once disappeared on a “stormy night.” Be prepared for a thrilling ride as you are unexpectedly propelled up and down the abandoned elevator shaft.

- Attraction Length: About 5 minutes
- Who Should Ride: Anyone who meets the height requirement and can handle big drops

Toy Story Land – 3 Attractions
Toy Story Land is filled with bright colors and allows guests to feel like they’re stepping into Andy’s backyard as one of his beloved toys. The attention here to detail is amazing making it one of the most popular sections of the park. Here you will find three fun Toy Story-themed attractions including the extremely popular Slinky Dog Dash.
Alien Swirling Saucers
Take a spin in this flying saucer ride featuring the adorable aliens from Toy Story. Be prepared for some slight spinning motion, although the saucers themselves don’t spin fully on their own. (I’m not one for rides that spin, but I had a blast with my daughters on this ride!) We were able to fit one adult and two small children in our saucer. A family of four will most likely need to split up, however.

Slinky Dog Dash
Assembled by Andy himself using a “Mega Coaster Play Kit,” this family-friendly roller coaster features some of your favorite Toy Story characters. Also, the attention to detail on this ride is truly amazing. Be sure to take notice of all the decor through the ride queue as well as the coast itself!

- Attraction Length: About 2 minutes
- Who Should Ride: Anyone who meets the height requirement
- When to Visit: First hour of the day or anytime with a LL Multi Pass

- Ride Photo: Yes (It’s located to your right after going over the four small hills, and the photo is added automatically to your My Disney Experience account after your ride.)

Shrink down to the size of one of Andy’s toys and take part in five different 3D carnival games featuring all of your favorite Toy Story characters. You will compete for the top prize (bragging rights, of course) with the person sitting next to you, so be prepared to unleash your competitive side!
