Disney Cruise Line in the Winter: 2026 & 2027 Itineraries
Disney Cruise Line in the winter is one of the most underrated times to set sail, and if you ask me, it is one of the most special. December brings the holiday magic of Very Merrytime Cruises to the entire fleet. January and February bring the return of two of Disney Cruise Line’s most beloved themed events, Marvel Day at Sea and Pixar Day at Sea, alongside some genuinely strong itineraries across all eight ships. Add in smaller crowds and often better pricing than the peak summer season, and winter starts to look very appealing very quickly.
This guide covers everything you need to know about Disney Cruise Line in the winter… specifically December 2026, January 2027, and February 2027… including where every ship is sailing, what special events are onboard, and why this season might just be the one that finally gets you to book.

Special Themed Sailings: Very Merrytime Cruises, Marvel Day at Sea, and Pixar Day at Sea
Three of Disney Cruise Line’s most beloved themed events are all part of the winter 2026/2027 season, and they are a big reason so many families specifically plan cruises for this time of year. Here is what to expect from each.
Very Merrytime Cruises
If there is one Disney Cruise Line experience that lives up to every bit of its hype, it is a Very Merrytime Cruise. Running from early November through late December on select sailings, these holiday-themed voyages transform Disney’s ships into floating Christmas celebrations that are genuinely unlike anything else at sea. While my family has never had the opportunity to sail on a Very Merrytime cruise, it is definitely on our wish list for the near future!
Picture a towering Christmas tree anchoring the atrium, garlands and wreaths around every corner, characters dressed in their holiday finest, and yes… “snow” falling on the deck in the middle of the Bahamas. It is pure Disney holiday magic, and it is absolutely worth planning your cruise around.
The centerpiece of every Very Merrytime Cruise is the Legacy Christmas Tree, which sets the tone for the entire sailing from the moment you step onboard. Throughout the voyage, guests can enjoy Mickey and Minnie’s Holiday Party (the signature deck celebration featuring holiday music, beloved characters, and a whole lot of cheer), Storytime with Mrs. Claus, holiday-themed games and crafts, and on later-season sailings, a life-sized Gingerbread House that is every bit as impressive as it sounds.
Characters appear in their holiday best throughout the sailing, in festive costumes you simply won’t find at any other time of year. Disney’s private island destinations, Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, also receive holiday decorations during Very Merrytime sailings, which makes for one of the more surreal and wonderful experiences in all of Disney cruising: tropical breezes and Christmas magic, all at once.
In December 2026, Very Merrytime Cruises will be offered across the entire U.S.-based fleet, including the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny. Itinerary lengths range from 3 to 7 nights, depending on the ship and departure port, so there truly is an option for every schedule and budget. A word of advice: these sailings book up quickly, especially the popular mid-to-late December dates. Book as early as you possibly can!
Marvel Day at Sea
Are you bold enough to sail with the largest assembly of Marvel Super Heroes… along with a few villains… across land and sea? Marvel Day at Sea is a full-day, ship-wide celebration that takes over select sailings of the Disney Magic out of Galveston, Texas, running from January through early March 2027. From the moment you wake up, the ship transforms completely. Marvel music fills the air, themed banners line the atrium, and the schedule is packed from morning until a spectacular nighttime finale on the upper decks.
Expect to encounter over 30 Super Heroes and villains throughout the day, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Thor, Loki, Black Panther, and many more. The crown jewel of the entire event is the Marvel Heroes Unite nighttime deck spectacular, featuring stunt choreography, special effects, pyrotechnics, and fireworks at sea, with heroes and villains colliding in an epic clash of good vs. evil. It is genuinely one of the most impressive things Disney Cruise Line has ever produced, and my family talks about the deck shows every time we sail.
Other highlights include a big-band USO show tribute to Captain America, Wakanda warrior training with Okoye and the Dora Milaje, the Avengers Training Initiative for younger heroes-in-training, Marvel Comic Academy sketch sessions, themed trivia, movie screenings, and Mickey and Minnie’s Super Hero Celebration.
For winter 2027, Marvel Day at Sea is available on 4-, 5-, and 7-night sailings from Galveston, with the 7-night Bahamian itineraries (visiting Nassau and Castaway Cay) being offered for the very first time. If you have been waiting for the right excuse to book a Marvel Day at Sea cruise, the 7-night Bahamian option is a genuinely compelling new reason to do it.
Pixar Day at Sea
This magical themed day takes place on select 5-night Disney Fantasy sailings out of Port Canaveral, Florida, running from late January through early March 2027. It brings the beloved worlds of Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., The Incredibles, Inside Out, and Coco to life from breakfast all the way through the evening deck party.
The day kicks off with the Hey Howdy Breakfast, a musical Toy Story-themed breakfast with live music, sing-alongs, and Woody and Jessie themselves. From there, you have got Crush’s Totally Awesome Pool Party hosted by Crush from Finding Nemo, Edna Mode’s Style on Parade (where guests strut their best Pixar-inspired fashion… no capes!), and the Pixar Pals Celebration deck party at sunset that wraps up the day in the most joyful way imaginable.
There is also the Pixar Day at Sea Dinner with dishes inspired by Pixar Animation Studios, and an Anyone Can Cook live cooking demo where Disney Chefs teach guests to make Remy’s signature ratatouille. My kids absolutely loved every minute of Pixar Day at Sea. It was worth booking the cruise for on its own.
Winter 2026/2027 Itineraries
December 2026, January 2027, and February 2027.
Disney Cruise Line in the winter offers a strong, varied lineup across the fleet. December is all about the holiday magic of Very Merrytime Cruises. January and February shift into Marvel and Pixar territory, with a wide range of Caribbean and Bahamian options across multiple ships. Here is a full breakdown of where every ship is sailing this winter.
Disney Magic
- Departing From: Galveston, Texas
- Destinations: Western Caribbean, Bahamas
The Disney Magic is based in Galveston for the entire winter 2026/2027 season, and it has a truly exciting lineup. In December 2026, the Magic offers 4-, 5-, and 7-night Very Merrytime sailings to the Western Caribbean (visiting Cozumel and Progreso, Mexico) and the Bahamas (visiting Nassau and Disney Castaway Cay).
Then, starting in mid-January 2027, the Magic becomes the home of Marvel Day at Sea, with themed sailings running through early March. The 2027 lineup includes 4- and 5-night Western Caribbean itineraries as well as 7-night Bahamian voyages to Nassau and Castaway Cay… the first time Marvel Day at Sea has ever appeared on a 7-night Bahamian sailing from Galveston. For Texas and Gulf Coast families, this is one of the most exciting Disney Cruise Line winter lineups in years. If you have been eyeing a Marvel Day at Sea cruise and want to avoid flying to Florida, this is your season.
Disney Wonder
- Departing From: San Diego, California
- Destinations: Baja Mexico, Mexican Riviera
The Disney Wonder is stationed in San Diego for the winter, offering 3- to 7-night Baja and Mexican Riviera sailings through December 2026, January 2027, and February 2027. Ports vary by sailing but include Catalina Island, California, Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas, and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. December sailings are Very Merrytime Cruises on select departures. The Wonder is one of our absolute favorite Disney ships. There is something so relaxed and lovely about a West Coast winter sailing… warm Mexican sunshine, beautiful ports, and all the Disney magic you could ask for. It’s a genuinely underappreciated way to experience Disney Cruise Line in the winter.
Disney Dream
- Departing From: Fort Lauderdale, Florida; San Juan, Puerto Rico
- Destinations: Bahamas, Eastern Caribbean, Southern Caribbean
The Disney Dream has a varied and exciting winter 2026/2027 lineup. From Fort Lauderdale, the ship offers 3-, 4-, 5-, and 6-night Bahamian sailings and 7-night Eastern Caribbean voyages with stops at Nassau, Disney Castaway Cay, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, Tortola, and St. Thomas. December sailings from Fort Lauderdale include Very Merrytime options. There is also a spectacular 7-night Southern Caribbean cruise departing from San Juan, Puerto Rico, visiting Willemstad (Curaçao), Oranjestad (Aruba), St. John’s (Antigua), and Philipsburg (St. Maarten).
The Dream is one of our family’s very favorite ships, and the Southern Caribbean itinerary is one of the most beautiful in the entire fleet. These are ports Disney doesn’t visit often, and the islands are stunning in the winter.
Disney Fantasy
- Departing From: Port Canaveral, Florida
- Destinations: Bahamas, Caribbean
The Disney Fantasy is in Port Canaveral all winter, offering 3-, 4-, and 5-night Bahamian and Caribbean sailings with stops at Disney Castaway Cay, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, and Nassau. December sailings include Very Merrytime options. Then, starting in late January 2027, select 5-night Fantasy sailings feature Pixar Day at Sea, running through early March. The January 29 Pixar Day at Sea departure is particularly unique… it is a Western Caribbean itinerary that visits Castaway Cay and Cozumel, giving guests a Pixar-themed cruise with a slightly different port lineup than the standard Bahamian options.
Disney Wish
- Departing From: Port Canaveral, Florida
- Destinations: Bahamas
The Disney Wish continues its popular 3- and 4-night Bahamian sailings from Port Canaveral through the entire winter season, with stops at Nassau, Disney Castaway Cay, and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. December sailings include Very Merrytime options on select departures. The Wish is one of the most beautifully designed ships in the fleet, and a short winter sailing on her is a genuinely wonderful experience. We’ve done a 3-night on the Wish, and it honestly feels complete from start to finish. For families who want a quick, magical winter escape without a big time commitment, this is a smart choice.
Disney Treasure
- Departing From: Port Canaveral, Florida
- Destinations: Western Caribbean, Eastern Caribbean
The Disney Treasure keeps delivering its signature 7-night Caribbean itineraries from Port Canaveral throughout the winter season. Western Caribbean voyages visit Cozumel, George Town (Grand Cayman), Falmouth (Jamaica), and Disney Castaway Cay, while Eastern Caribbean sailings head to Tortola (British Virgin Islands), St. Thomas (U.S. Virgin Islands), and Castaway Cay. December sailings include Very Merrytime options on select departures. A 7-night Very Merrytime cruise on the Disney Treasure is one of the most memorable Disney Cruise Line experiences available this winter… a full week of Caribbean ports wrapped in Christmas magic. If you can swing a longer sailing, this is the one to consider.
Disney Adventure
- Departing From: Singapore
- Destinations: Magic at Sea (no port stops)
The Disney Adventure continues its one-of-a-kind “Magic at Sea” sailings from Singapore through December 2026, with 3- and 4-night round-trip itineraries that have no port stops at all. The ship is the destination, with immersive Disney, Pixar, and Marvel-themed experiences, world-class entertainment, and dining unlike anything else in the fleet. For guests in Southeast Asia, a winter sailing on the Disney Adventure is one of the most unique Disney vacation options available anywhere in the world. (And for the rest of us watching from afar… the FOMO is genuinely real.)
Note that Disney Adventure itineraries for January and February 2027 have not yet been announced at the time of writing. We will update this section as soon as Disney makes that confirmation.
Disney Destiny
- Departing From: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
- Destinations: Bahamas, Eastern Caribbean, Western Caribbean
The Disney Destiny sails from Fort Lauderdale throughout the winter season with a strong mix of 4-, 5-, and 7-night itineraries to the Bahamas, Eastern Caribbean, and Western Caribbean. Port stops vary by sailing but include Nassau, Disney Castaway Cay, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, and Cozumel, Mexico. December sailings include Very Merrytime options on select departures. The Destiny’s heroes-and-villains theme makes it a ship unlike anything else in the fleet, and the 7-night itinerary options from Fort Lauderdale are a genuinely convenient option for families who want a longer winter cruise without driving to Port Canaveral.
