Opening back in January of 1993, Mickey’s Toontown at the Disneyland Resort is a fun-filled cartoon-like land to explore. Many of the attractions located here are not actual rides, but rather they are places to roam and explore. Take a walk through Minnie’s house. Play in the all-new CenTOONial Park. And even meet and take photos with Mickey Mouse! It truly is a fun place to walk around, explore, and simply be a kid at heart.
This area of Disneyland Park has been closed since March 2021 for reimagining. The entire area is being updated and redone! An all-new attraction, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be opening on January 27, 2023. The rest of the area will be opening to the public on March 8, 2023! We don’t have all the details yet, such as menus and pricing for dining, but we do have an idea of what Disney has in store for guests in this newly designed area of the park.

Update… Disney has replaced FastPass and MaxPass with the brand new Disney Genie and Disney Genie+. The new system is very similar to Disneyland’s MaxPass as it is an add-on purchase allowing you to make “Lightning Lane” reservations throughout your day in the parks. There is also the option to purchase Individual Attraction reservations for select top-tier attractions. For more information, be sure to visit our guide. Happy Planning!
Rides, Attractions, and Entertainment:
*Mickey’s Toontown is currently closed for reimagining. Opening on March 8, 2023, here’s a look at what we know so far:
CenTOONial Park – This new area will be the first space guests encounter when they enter Mickey’s Toontown, and it will be a natural space “anchored by two interactive play experiences.” It will feature a fountain (designed for play) and water tables for some additional fun. The fountain will also transform at night into a “unique spectacle.” Nearby, there will be a “dreaming tree” inspired by the tree Walt Disney would daydream under as a child. The sculpted tree roots will also provide children with an opportunity for play.
Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard – This space will incorporate a “whimsical sound garden where kids will discover new ways to make wacky noises, as well as enjoy an all-new, elevated clubhouse.”
Donald’s Duck Pond – This splash area will also allow guests to look inside the boat through the portholes, where they can interact with favorite ducklings Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby.
Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster – This will be a one-of-a-kind coaster specifically designed for kids.
Café Daisy – Daisy Duck will serve up diner classics at this sidewalk table eatery.
Toontown Farmers Market at Good Boy! Grocers – This will be a friendly roadside stand, offering grab-and-go drinks and treats.
Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin – This fan-favorite attraction will be returning!
Mickey & Minnie’s Houses – Guests will once again be able to meet Mickey and Minnie at their homes.
*Opening January 27, 2023: Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway – Much like the ride already open in Hollywood Studios, guests will be able to join Minnie and Mickey for a picnic in the park only for everything to suddenly go wrong! This trackless ride will take you through multiple scenes featuring all of your favorite Disney characters.
