|
Radiator Springs Racers - Disney California Adventure rides and attractions | Magic in the Planning

By Alyssa Howard

Disney California Adventure has come a long way since it first opened in 2001. What began as a park centered on the beauty and culture of California has evolved into one of the most dynamic theme parks in the country, with an impressive roster of thrill rides, beloved Pixar experiences, and a Marvel universe that keeps getting bigger. Cars Land alone is worth the price of admission, and between Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT!, Radiator Springs Racers, and the Incredicoaster, there is no shortage of genuine thrills.

This is your complete guide to Disney California Adventure rides and attractions, organized by land, with Lightning Lane details, height requirements, and tips to help you plan your day.

Disney California Adventure Lightning Lane: What You Need to Know

Before diving into the Disney California Adventure rides and attractions themselves, it helps to understand how Lightning Lane works here. Like Disneyland Park next door, Disney California Adventure does not use a tiered Lightning Lane system. You can book any available Multi Pass attraction after entering the park through the Disneyland app, with no Tier 1 or Tier 2 restrictions to navigate.

The Lightning Lane Single Pass covers the one attraction that sits above the Multi Pass system entirely. The Lightning Lane Premier Pass gives you one-time entry to every Lightning Lane attraction in both Disneyland Resort parks for a single day, with no scheduling required.

Lightning Lane Single Pass (purchased separately):

  • Radiator Springs Racers

Lightning Lane Multi Pass (book any available attraction, no tiers):

  • Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT!
  • Goofy’s Sky School
  • Grizzly River Run
  • Incredicoaster
  • The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure
  • Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!
  • Soarin’ Around the World
  • Toy Story Midway Mania!
  • WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure

My general advice: Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT! and Soarin’ Around the World tend to run out of Lightning Lane return times fastest. Book one of those first after entering the park. Toy Story Midway Mania is also a popular pick that goes quickly on busy days. Radiator Springs Racers is the top Single Pass priority and should be targeted at rope drop or purchased in advance if it’s a must-do for your group.

Avengers Campus Rides and Attractions

Avengers Campus is one of the most immersive themed lands at any Disney park, and it gets better every year. The land puts guests right in the middle of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with heroes flying overhead, character encounters throughout the day, and two of the most entertaining rides in the resort. The campus is also actively expanding, with two major new attractions currently under construction that will roughly double the size of the land when they open.
