Disney Believe Cruise Ship Guide: What We Know So Far

Disney Believe Cruise Ship Guide - Views of Castaway Cay | Magic in the Planning

By Alyssa Howard

Disney officially announced the name of their next cruise ship in March 2026, and I knew this one deserved its own guide right away, even though she will not set sail for over a year.

This Disney Believe cruise ship guide is a little different from my other ship guides. I have not sailed her (obviously, since she does not exist yet), and neither has anyone else. There is no dining lineup to review, no stage show to recommend, no stateroom to walk you through. What I can give you is everything Disney has officially confirmed so far, gathered in one place, with my honest take on what it suggests about the ship she is going to become.

I will be updating this post regularly as Disney releases more details, so if you are dreaming about a future Disney Believe sailing, bookmark this page and check back. This is the place I will keep the most current, accurate picture of what is coming.

Disney Believe Cruise Ship Guide: Quick Facts at a Glance

Here is everything officially confirmed so far. This list will grow as more details are announced.

  • Name announced: March 18, 2026, during The Walt Disney Company’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders
  • Construction began: August 8, 2025 (steel-cutting ceremony at Meyer Werft, Papenburg, Germany)
  • Expected debut: Late 2027
  • Ship class: Wish class (fourth vessel in the class, sister to the Wish, Treasure, and Destiny)
  • Theme: Promise and possibilities
  • Length: Approximately 1,119 feet (341 meters)
  • Gross tonnage: Approximately 144,000
  • Passenger capacity: Up to 4,000 guests
  • Staterooms: 1,254
  • Crew: Approximately 1,555
  • Fuel: Liquefied natural gas (LNG)
  • Home port: Not yet announced
  • Itineraries: Not yet announced

Bottom Line: The Disney Believe will be structurally identical in scale to the Wish, Treasure, and Destiny, meaning if you have sailed any of those ships, you already have a strong sense of what the Believe’s size and layout will feel like. What will set her apart is her theme, and that is where things get genuinely exciting.

The Story Behind the Name

The Disney Believe has actually been a long time coming, and her path to the water has been anything but smooth. She was originally planned years earlier, but like much of the cruise industry, faced significant delays tied to the pandemic, shipyard disruptions, and supply chain setbacks that pushed her debut back repeatedly. What was once expected much sooner is now targeted for late 2027.

Construction officially began with a steel-cutting ceremony on August 8, 2025, at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, the same shipyard that has built every Wish-class ship to date. That ceremony took place just ahead of the Disney Destiny’s float-out, giving a sense of how tightly Disney has been sequencing this next generation of ships.

The name itself was not revealed until March 18, 2026, during The Walt Disney Company’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders, making it one of new CEO Josh D’Amaro’s first major announcements in that role. Disney described the Believe as a tribute to dreamers and doers, to anyone who dares to pursue their own happily ever after. It is a sentimental, hopeful theme, and a nice contrast to the high drama of the Destiny’s heroes and villains concept that came right before it.

Pro Tip: If you have been following this fleet closely, you will notice a pattern. Each Wish-class ship has taken on a distinct emotional identity: the Wish is a fairy tale, the Treasure is an adventure, the Destiny is a battle between good and evil, and now the Believe is about hope and possibility. Disney is clearly building this class to feel like four very different chapters of the same story rather than four copies of the same ship.

The Theme: Promise and Possibilities

This is the part of the announcement I am most excited about, because the storytelling lineup Disney has confirmed for the Believe is genuinely beautiful.

Disney has described the ship’s design motif as one of promise and possibilities, built around characters who believe in themselves and their dreams. The confirmed inspirations so far include the mystical world of Encanto, the magic of Frozen, the wishing wells of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and the depths of the sea with Moana and The Little Mermaid.

If you read that list and immediately started imagining what a Mirabel-themed restaurant or an Ariel-inspired adults-only lounge might look like, you are not alone. These are five stories with deeply emotional, hopeful cores, each centered on a character striving toward something bigger than themselves: Mirabel earning her place in her family, Anna and Elsa choosing love over fear, Snow White holding onto hope, Moana answering the call of the ocean, Ariel reaching for a world she has never seen. It is easy to see how “promise and possibilities” ties all five together thematically, and it suggests the Believe may lean more emotionally resonant than some of her sisters.

What we do not know yet is how this theming will actually translate into specific venues. Will there be a Frozen-themed rotational restaurant the way the Wish has Arendelle? Will Moana headline a stage show the way she does on the Treasure? Will there be an Encanto-inspired lounge? Disney has not confirmed any of this, and I want to be upfront that anything beyond the five confirmed inspirations is pure speculation at this point. I will update this section the moment Disney shares specifics.

What We Still Do Not Know

In the interest of being genuinely useful rather than padding this post with guesses, here is an honest list of what has not yet been announced as of this writing.

  • Home port: Disney has not confirmed where the Believe will be based. Given the Wish, Treasure, and Destiny all sail from Florida (Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale), it is reasonable to expect the Believe could follow a similar pattern, but this has not been confirmed.
  • Itineraries: No sailing lengths, regions, or specific routes have been announced.
  • Dining venues: No rotational restaurants, specialty dining, or quick-service venues have been named.
  • Entertainment: No stage shows, character experiences, or signature attractions have been confirmed.
  • Stateroom categories and pricing: While the Believe will likely mirror her sister ships in general stateroom structure given the identical hull specifications, no specific categories or pricing have been released.
  • Booking dates: There is no indication yet of when sailings will open for booking.

Disney has stated that more details will be shared in the coming months, so this list should shrink considerably over the next year as the Believe gets closer to her late 2027 debut.

What We Can Reasonably Expect

Based on the pattern established by the Wish, Treasure, and Destiny, here is what seems like a reasonable expectation for the Believe, while acknowledging none of this is confirmed.

Given that the Believe shares identical specifications with her three sister ships (144,000 gross tons, 1,119 feet, capacity for 4,000 guests, 1,254 staterooms), I would expect the deck layout, stateroom categories, and core amenities like the split bathroom design, AquaMouse-style water attraction, and Marceline Market-style food hall to carry over in some form, the same way they have across the Wish, Treasure, and Destiny. Each Wish-class ship so far has kept these structural elements consistent while changing the theming, restaurant names, and entertainment to match its unique identity.

It also seems likely, based on the pattern of Palo and Enchanté appearing across the Wish, Treasure, and Destiny, that the Believe will carry forward at least one adults-only specialty dining concept, possibly with new naming tied to the promise and possibilities theme.

Again, I want to be clear: none of this is confirmed. I am sharing it only because readers researching a future Disney cruise often want a sense of what to expect, and the pattern across the first three Wish-class ships is genuinely instructive. As soon as Disney confirms anything here one way or another, I will update accordingly.

How the Disney Believe Fits Into the Growing Fleet

The Disney Believe is part of a genuinely remarkable period of growth for Disney Cruise Line. As of this writing, the fleet includes the Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy, Wish, Treasure, Destiny, and Adventure, eight ships sailing across the Caribbean, Bahamas, Alaska, Europe, and Singapore. The Believe will be the ninth.

Disney has announced plans to grow the fleet to 13 ships by 2031, which means the Believe is just one part of a much larger expansion that also includes additional unnamed vessels, including a ship planned for year-round Japan sailings around 2029. It is a genuinely exciting time to be a Disney Cruise Line fan, with more ships, more itineraries, and more ways to experience Disney at sea than ever before.

Pro Tip: If you are not ready to wait for the Believe but want to experience a Wish-class ship sooner, the Wish, Treasure, and Destiny are all sailing now, and each offers a genuinely different experience worth exploring while you wait for the Believe’s debut. What to Do While You Wait

If the Disney Believe has you dreaming about a future sailing, here is how to make the most of the wait.

Follow the announcements. Disney typically releases new ship details in waves: home port and general timing first, then dining and entertainment, then specific itineraries and booking windows. I will update this post each time something new is confirmed, so checking back here periodically is the easiest way to stay current without having to track down scattered announcements yourself.

Consider sailing a Wish-class ship now. The Wish, Treasure, and Destiny share the Believe’s fundamental scale and many of her structural features. Sailing one of her sisters now will give you a genuinely good sense of what a Believe sailing will feel like, even though the theming and venue names will be entirely different.

Start budgeting and planning logistics. Even without confirmed pricing, you can start thinking through practical questions: which home port regions work for your family, what time of year you would prefer to sail, and how many nights you would want. Having these answers ready means you can move quickly once booking opens.

Join the Castaway Club. If you have sailed Disney Cruise Line before, your Castaway Club membership level affects how early you can book new itineraries once they are released, including future Believe sailings. Make sure your membership and contact information are current with Disney so you do not miss early booking windows.
