Disney Treasure Cruise Ship Guide: Everything You Need to Know Before You Sail

|
Disney Treasure Cruise Ship Guide - Magic in the Planning

By Alyssa Howard

The Disney Treasure is one of the newest ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, and by nearly every account, it is also one of the best. Launched in December 2024 as the second Wish-class ship, the Treasure takes everything that made the Disney Wish so compelling and builds on it with a bolder theme, three brand-new adults-only lounges inspired by beloved Disney Parks attractions, a stage show that has already earned a reputation as the finest production Disney has ever put on a cruise ship, and a dining lineup that includes the Treasure-exclusive Plaza de Coco.

I have not sailed the Treasure yet, but it is firmly at the top of my list. Having sailed the Wonder, Fantasy, Dream, and Wish, I have the full context of the fleet behind this guide, and the Treasure has quickly become one of the most talked-about ships in Disney cruising circles for very good reasons. This Disney Treasure cruise ship guide covers everything you need to know before you sail: the ship’s design, dining, entertainment, staterooms, the deck layout, itineraries, and the insider tips that will make your sailing as magical as possible.

Disney Treasure: Quick Facts at a Glance

Here is a snapshot of the basics before we dive in.

  • Launched: December 21, 2024
  • Ship class: Wish class (sister ship to Disney Wish)
  • Theme: Adventure and exploration, Adventureland at Sea
  • Length: 1,119 feet (341 meters)
  • Gross tonnage: 144,000
  • Passenger capacity: Up to 4,000 guests (2,500 lower berths)
  • Staterooms: 1,234

  • Number of decks: 15
  • Specialty dining: Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté (both adults-only)
  • Fuel: Liquefied natural gas (LNG)

Bottom Line: The Disney Treasure is the most recently launched ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, and it brings a bolder, adventure-focused identity to the Wish-class framework. If you loved the Disney Wish, the Treasure will feel familiar in layout but entirely fresh in personality. If you have only sailed the classic ships, prepare for something genuinely new.

Ship History and Design

Character Statue on the Disney Treasure on Disney Cruise Line | Magic in the Planning

The Disney Treasure made her maiden voyage on December 21, 2024, becoming the sixth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. She was built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, the same shipyard that built the Disney Wish, and shares the Wish’s same fundamental layout, scale, and Wish-class architecture. But where the Wish is a fairy tale, the Treasure is an adventure.

The design theme is “Adventureland at Sea,” drawing on the spirit of exploration and discovery that runs through Disney’s most beloved adventurous stories. Where the Wish’s color palette is soft and castle-like, all pinks and golds and fairy tale warmth, the Treasure goes deeper and bolder: rich blues, deep greens, and the visual language of Africa, Asia, and the high seas. The ship feels dramatic and atmospheric from the moment you step aboard.

The Grand Hall sets the tone immediately. Where the Wish’s atrium features Cinderella’s glass slipper chandelier and a princess welcome, the Treasure’s Grand Hall is presided over by Aladdin and Jasmine on their magic carpet, suspended above the sweeping staircase in a moment of pure Disney adventure. Captain Minnie anchors the space as the ship’s hero, with the whole Grand Hall designed to feel like the beginning of a great journey rather than the entrance to a castle.

Stern Characters on the Disney Treasure on Disney Cruise Line | Magic in the Planning

The stern features Captain Hook and Peter Pan, and the ship’s identity as an adventure vessel is carried through every themed space on board, from the Jungle Cruise-inspired Skipper Society lounge to the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea-themed Periscope Pub to the extraordinary Haunted Mansion Parlor. The Treasure is, by any measure, the most elaborately themed Disney Cruise Line ship ever built for adults.

Pro Tip: Just like the Disney Wish, the Treasure’s layout takes a day to fully learn. The ship is organized around immersive themed neighborhoods rather than a straightforward deck-by-deck layout. Reviewing the deck map in the Navigator app before you board will save you time on day one and make sure you do not miss any of the best spaces.

Disney Treasure Deck Layout

The Treasure has 15 decks and shares the same fundamental layout as the Disney Wish, with some venue substitutions throughout.

  • Deck 2: Standard inside staterooms, Deluxe Oceanview staterooms, Walt Disney Theatre (accessible entrance)
  • Deck 3: Grand Hall (main atrium), Guest Services, Shopping, Skipper Society Lounge, 1923, Walt Disney Theatre (main entrance), Haunted Mansion Parlor, Scat Cat Lounge
  • Deck 4: Worlds of Marvel, Hook’s Barbery, Untangled Salon, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, Hei Hei Cafe, Guest Services, Port Adventures, Walt Disney Theatre balcony, Preludes, Sarabi Theatre, Never Land Cinema, Wonderland Cinema
  • Deck 5: Plaza de Coco, Edge (tweens), DVC Lounge, Mickey’s Mainsail Shopping, Jade Cricket Cafe, Senses Spa and Fitness, Periscope Pub, Triton Lounge
  • Decks 6–10: Staterooms
  • Deck 11: Marceline Market (food hall), Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods (quick service), pool deck staterooms
  • Deck 12: Main pool area, Donald’s Pool, Goofy’s Pool, Toy Story Splash Zone, AquaMouse loading area, Vibe (teens), The Rose, Palo Steakhouse, Enchanté, Concierge Lounge, staterooms
  • Deck 13: Quiet Cove adult infinity pool, Quiet Cove Whirlpool, Cove Bar, Cove Cafe, adults-only Sun Deck, Concierge Sun Deck, staterooms
  • Decks 14–15: Tomorrow Tower Suite (two-story concierge suite)

Pro Tip: The Quiet Cove adults-only infinity pool on Deck 13 aft is accessed from the outer decks only, the same as on the Wish. Head outside and walk toward the stern to find it. Many guests miss it on their first day.

Dining on the Disney Treasure

The Treasure’s dining lineup is exceptional, with one genuinely new experience (Plaza de Coco) sitting alongside two returning favorites from the Wish (1923 and Worlds of Marvel) and the same two adults-only specialty restaurants (Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté). If you have sailed the Wish, you will recognize the framework but find the details meaningfully different.

Rotational Dining: The Three Main Restaurants

The Treasure rotates guests through 1923, Worlds of Marvel, and Plaza de Coco. Your servers rotate with you through every dinner, learning your preferences, dietary needs, and any celebrations from night one.

1923

Sundae at 1923 on the Disney Treasure on Disney Cruise Line | Magic in the Planning

Named for the year the Walt Disney Company was founded, 1923 on the Treasure is a near-twin of its counterpart on the Wish, split into the Walt Disney and Roy Disney dining rooms with over 800 pieces of original Disney artwork, storyboards, and artifacts throughout. The California-inspired menu features elevated dishes including filet mignon, rack of lamb, and seafood. It is the most elegant and refined of the three rotational restaurants and is also open for breakfast and lunch on most sailing days. If you have sailed the Wish, the menu is similar though not identical, with some differences on the second-night rotation.

Worlds of Marvel

Worlds of Marvel on the Disney Treasure on Disney Cruise Line | Magic in the Planning

Worlds of Marvel on the Treasure delivers the same immersive Avengers mission concept as on the Wish, but with a Treasure-specific twist. The first night features the Ant-Man show guests know from the Wish. The second night features the Treasure-exclusive Marvel Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix, a new show following Groot as he plans a surprise party for Rocket Raccoon, with music, humor, and the Guardians of the Galaxy energy throughout. If you have already experienced Worlds of Marvel on the Wish, the Groot Remix night makes it genuinely worth doing again.

Plaza de Coco

Plaza de Coco is the Treasure’s crown jewel in the rotational dining lineup and is exclusive to this ship. Themed around Pixar’s beloved Coco, it is a full theatrical dinner experience celebrating Mexican culture, music, and the story of Miguel and his family. Tables are arranged around a central stage for 360-degree views of the entertainment. The first night features music and dance with Miguel and the town mariachis. The second night (on longer sailings) brings a Día de los Muertos celebration with Mamá Coco, Abuelita, and the Rivera family.

The menu is Mexican-inspired and genuinely delicious, with dishes like shrimp diabla, enchiladas, and vibrant desserts that feel true to the cuisine rather than theme park-generic. The combination of heartfelt Coco storytelling, live performance, and excellent food makes Plaza de Coco one of the most emotionally resonant dining experiences in the entire fleet. Guests who have sailed both the Wish and the Treasure consistently rate it as a highlight of the Treasure that the Wish does not have a direct equivalent for.

Palo Steakhouse

Palo Steakhouse on the Treasure is identical in concept to the Wish: an adults-only premium steakhouse on Deck 12 accessed through The Rose lounge, with a high-end menu of cuts, sides, and exceptional service. The brunch on sea days is also available and is one of the best meals on the ship. Book it the moment your check-in window opens.

Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement

Enchanté is the Treasure’s adults-only fine dining restaurant, a multi-course French experience designed in partnership with three-Michelin-starred chef Arnaud Lallement, accessed through The Rose on Deck 12. The Beauty and the Beast theming carries through the entire room, tableware, and presentation. It is the highest-end dining option on the ship and best saved for a genuinely special occasion.

Marceline Market and Quick Service

Marceline Market on Deck 11 replaces the traditional Cabanas buffet with the same 10-stall food hall concept from the Wish, themed to different Disney stories throughout. Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods provides quick-service options on the pool deck. Room service is available 24 hours a day and included in your fare.

Bottom Line: The Treasure’s dining lineup is among the strongest in the fleet. Plaza de Coco is the must-experience standout that sets this ship apart from the Wish, and Palo Steakhouse brunch on a sea day is worth booking the moment your check-in window opens. Book Enchanté for special occasions.

Entertainment on the Disney Treasure

The Treasure’s entertainment lineup is headlined by a stage production that has quickly earned a reputation as the best Disney Cruise Line has ever produced, and the ship’s three adults-only lounges are the most elaborately themed bar spaces in the entire fleet.

Walt Disney Theatre

The Treasure’s three productions are Disney The Tale of Moana, Beauty and the Beast, and Disney Seas the Adventure. The Walt Disney Theatre on the Treasure features the same Dolby Atmos 3D audio system as the Wish, making it one of the most technologically advanced performance spaces at sea.

Disney The Tale of Moana is exclusive to the Disney Treasure and is widely considered the best stage production Disney Cruise Line has ever mounted. Reviewers and guests alike have called it extraordinary, with giant puppetry (Te Kā is a marvel), 360-degree digital projections that transform the entire theater, the spirit of Gramma Tala in manta ray form soaring around the audience, and a reimagined original score that honors the film while creating something new for the stage. This show is the single most compelling reason to choose the Treasure, and it lives up to every word of the praise it has received. Do not miss it.

Beauty and the Beast is the same production found on the Disney Dream, a full theatrical retelling of the animated classic with elaborate staging, live singing and dancing, impressive puppetry, and a Beast transformation that consistently leaves audiences stunned. It is one of the best shows in the fleet and an extraordinary complement to Moana on the same sailing.

Disney Seas the Adventure is the ship’s first-night welcome show, the same production found on the Wish, with Captain Minnie and Goofy sailing into uncharted waters as the cruise begins. It is a warm, fun way to kick off the sailing.

AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg

The Treasure’s AquaMouse is a new version of the Wish’s ride, with a Treasure-specific storyline: Mickey and Minnie on a quest into an ancient temple in pursuit of the Curse of the Golden Egg. The same 760-foot water coaster design with animated Disney storytelling inside the tube, but a completely new story. Best ridden during the sailing-away party before lines build.

Disney Uncharted Adventure

The same multi-day mobile interactive game found on the Wish runs on the Treasure, turning the entire ship into a playfield across the course of the sailing. Start it on embarkation day to get the full experience.

Pirate Night

Pirate Night includes a deck party and fireworks on most itineraries. The Treasure’s longer 7-night itineraries give guests more time to build up to the event and make Pirate Night feel like a proper celebration within the broader sailing.

Kids and Teen Programming

The Treasure’s youth clubs follow the same elaborately themed model as the Wish.

  • Marvel Super Hero Academy (ages 3–12): Avengers-themed activities, missions, and character interactions.
  • Fairytale Hall (ages 3–12): Disney princess-themed creative spaces.
  • Star Wars Cargo Bay (ages 3–12): Star Wars missions and activities for young Jedi-in-training.
  • Walt Disney Imagineering Lab (ages 3–12): STEM-focused creative programming.
  • It’s a Small World Nursery (ages 6 months–3 years): Staffed nursery care available for an additional fee.
  • Edge (ages 11–14): Dedicated tween lounge on Deck 5.
  • Vibe (ages 14–17): Teen club with its own programming and social atmosphere.

Adults-Only Spaces on the Disney Treasure

This is where the Treasure truly distinguishes itself from every other ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, including the Wish. The combination of three fully themed attraction-inspired adults-only lounges alongside the returning Rose, Palo Steakhouse, Enchanté, and Quiet Cove infinity pool makes the adult experience on the Treasure the strongest in the fleet by a meaningful margin.

  • Haunted Mansion Parlor (Deck 3): The most talked-about new space on the Treasure and a genuine Disney Parks fan experience. The Parlor tells an original Haunted Mansion story of a sea captain and his fiancée, with craft cocktails, atmospheric effects, hitchhiking ghosts materializing in the mirrors, and theming so immersive it genuinely feels like stepping into the attraction. It is adults-only in the evenings. If you love the Haunted Mansion, this space will be extraordinary.
  • Skipper Society (Deck 3): A Jungle Cruise-themed cocktail lounge with themed drinks, jungle foliage overhead, and live entertainment in the evenings. It doubles as a trivia and gathering space during the day and becomes adults-only at night. The corny Jungle Cruise humor carries through the cocktail menu and the whole atmosphere.
  • Periscope Pub (Deck 5): Themed around Disney’s 1954 film 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and the beloved Magic Kingdom attraction, with 19th-century steampunk design, a mysterious ocean-depths window spanning the ceiling (featuring actual footage from The Seas with Nemo and Friends at EPCOT), and a menu of craft beer, cocktails, and light bites. It becomes the unofficial sports bar on the ship during major sporting events and is adults-only at night.
  • Scat Cat Lounge (Deck 3): An Aristocats-themed piano lounge adjacent to the Grand Hall, with live music and a relaxed atmosphere. One of the most consistently praised evening venues on the ship for its warmth and intimate feel.
  • The Rose (Deck 12): The Beauty and the Beast champagne and cocktail lounge that serves as the gateway to Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté. A beautiful pre-dinner drink spot.
  • Palo Steakhouse (Deck 12): The adults-only specialty steakhouse. See the dining section above.
  • Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement (Deck 12): The adults-only fine dining restaurant. See the dining section above.
  • Quiet Cove Pool and Infinity Pool (Deck 13 aft): The adults-only infinity pool, hot tubs, Cove Bar, and Cove Cafe, accessible from the outer decks on Deck 13.
  • Senses Spa and Salon (Deck 5): Full-service spa, salon, barbershop, and fitness center with Rainforest Room available by day or voyage pass.

Bottom Line: The adult experience on the Disney Treasure is the best in the fleet. The Haunted Mansion Parlor, Skipper Society, and Periscope Pub are each extraordinary in their own right, and together they represent something genuinely new for Disney cruising. Even if you have sailed the Wish and loved its adult spaces, the Treasure’s lounges are a meaningfully different and more elaborate experience.

Staterooms on the Disney Treasure

The Treasure’s staterooms share the same categories, sizes, and split bathroom layout as the Disney Wish. The fairy tale theming of the Wish’s cabins gives way to the Treasure’s adventure aesthetic, with Disney-themed artwork and custom headboard murals themed to different Disney adventure stories throughout the ship.

Room Categories

  • Inside Staterooms: Starting at 169 square feet, sleeping up to four guests. Well-designed with Disney-themed details.
  • Deluxe Oceanview Staterooms: 218 square feet with a large porthole window.
  • Deluxe Family Oceanview Staterooms: 237 square feet with a large porthole, sleeping up to five guests.
  • Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah: 243 square feet including the balcony.
  • Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah: 284 square feet including the balcony, sleeping up to five guests. The sweet spot for families of four or five who want outdoor space without going to concierge level.
  • Concierge Staterooms and Suites: From one-bedroom suites to the Tomorrow Tower Suite, a two-story concierge suite on Decks 14 and 15. Concierge guests receive priority boarding, dedicated staff, exclusive lounge access, and the concierge embarkation lunch at 1923.

The Split Bathroom

The split bathroom design carries through from the Wish: toilet and sink in one room, tub, shower, and second sink in another. For families getting multiple people ready simultaneously in the morning, this remains one of the most practical features on any Disney cruise ship.

All staterooms include a refrigerator, in-room safe, hair dryer, and under-bed luggage storage.

Pro Tip: The Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah is the most practical upgrade for families of four or five. At 284 square feet including the balcony, it gives everyone room to breathe and the verandah becomes a genuine gathering spot on sea days and as the ship approaches new ports.

Disney Treasure Itineraries: Where Does It Go?

The Treasure sails exclusively 7-night Caribbean itineraries from Port Canaveral, Florida, making it one of the most destination-rich options in the fleet for guests who want a full week at sea. This is a meaningful difference from the Wish’s shorter 3- and 4-night schedule and makes the Treasure an excellent choice for guests who want more time in port.

Eastern Caribbean

Eastern Caribbean itineraries from Port Canaveral typically include St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; and San Juan, Puerto Rico, alongside a stop at Castaway Cay. These sailings offer some of the most beautiful island scenery in the Caribbean and appeal to guests who want a mix of beach days, snorkeling, and city exploration across the week.

Western Caribbean

Western Caribbean itineraries typically include Cozumel, Mexico; George Town, Grand Cayman; and Falmouth, Jamaica, alongside Castaway Cay. These are ports with well-developed excursion offerings and familiar appeal for Caribbean cruisers. George Town in Grand Cayman and Cozumel both offer excellent snorkeling and diving, while Falmouth gives guests access to the broader Jamaica experience.

Seasonal Sailings

Halloween on the High Seas sailings in October and Very Merrytime Christmas cruises in November and December add the same beloved seasonal character experiences, themed entertainment, and special décor that make these events a highlight across the fleet. The Treasure’s adventure theme adds a particularly fun dimension to Pirate Night within the Halloween season.

Pro Tip: The Treasure’s 7-night itineraries make it one of the best ships in the fleet for guests who want a more extended Caribbean experience. With four ports of call and Castaway Cay in a single sailing, it is a very full week. If you are used to the Wish’s shorter schedule, the Treasure offers a genuinely different kind of Disney cruise.

The Disney Treasure vs. the Disney Wish

Since the Treasure and Wish are sister ships, this is the comparison most guests make when deciding between the two. Here is the honest breakdown.

The structural layout, stateroom sizes, split bathroom design, AquaMouse, Quiet Cove pool, Marceline Market, Palo Steakhouse, Enchanté, The Rose, and the youth clubs are all essentially the same across both ships. If you have sailed the Wish, the Treasure’s bones will feel familiar within a few hours.

The meaningful differences are in the theming and the exclusive experiences. The Treasure has Plaza de Coco (versus Arendelle on the Wish), the Groot Remix show at Worlds of Marvel (versus the Ant-Man show), and Disney The Tale of Moana (versus The Little Mermaid on the Wish). The adults-only lounges are entirely different: instead of the Hyperspace Lounge and Bayou on the Wish, the Treasure has the Haunted Mansion Parlor, Skipper Society, and Periscope Pub, which are widely considered the better set by guests who have experienced both.

The itinerary difference is also significant. The Wish primarily sails 3- and 4-night Bahamian sailings in 2026, while the Treasure sails 7-night Caribbean itineraries year-round. If you want a longer, more port-rich sailing, the Treasure is the clear choice between the two.

Insider Tips for First-Time Disney Treasure Sailors

  • Book Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté the moment your check-in window opens. Both fill up fast on 7-night sailings. If Enchanté dinner is gone, check for brunch availability.
  • Do not miss Disney The Tale of Moana. It is widely considered the best stage show Disney Cruise Line has ever produced. See all three shows, but this is the one.
  • Visit the Haunted Mansion Parlor on your first evening. It is one of the most extraordinary themed spaces Disney has ever created at sea. Go early in the sailing before it becomes crowded and stay long enough to take in every detail.
  • Ride the AquaMouse during the sailing-away party. It opens as the ship leaves Port Canaveral and lines are short while everyone else is at the deck party. The Curse of the Golden Egg story is best experienced fresh.
  • Start Disney Uncharted Adventure on day one. The multi-day game spans your entire sailing. Starting early means you get the full experience rather than rushing on the last day.
  • Try all three adults-only lounges. The Haunted Mansion Parlor, Skipper Society, and Periscope Pub are each worth a visit on their own merits. If you only have time for one, the Parlor is the most unique experience in the fleet.
  • Tell your rotational dining server everything on night one. Dietary restrictions, allergies, preferences, and celebrations. They rotate with you and will carry it through every dinner.
  • Get to Plaza de Coco early on your first visit. The corridor and entrance are part of the Coco theming, and it is worth taking in before you are seated. The room itself is one of the most beautiful in the fleet.
  • Locate the Quiet Cove pool before your first sea day. It is on Deck 13 aft, accessible from the outer decks only. Finding it in advance means you are not hunting for it when you want a peaceful morning.
  • Use the Navigator app constantly. On a 7-night sailing especially, the daily schedule of events, character appearances, and show times is dense. Staying on top of the app means you do not miss anything.

Is the Disney Treasure Right for Your Family?

  • Want the Plaza de Coco dining experience, exclusive to the Treasure
  • Have already sailed the Wish and want the next chapter
  • Are traveling with a mix of ages, including teens (the Treasure’s entertainment and dining hold up beautifully for older guests)

You might want to consider a different ship if you:

  • Want a shorter 3- or 4-night sailing (the Treasure sails exclusively 7-night itineraries)
  • Prefer the intimate, classic feel of the Magic or Wonder
  • Are specifically looking for Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure (Wish exclusive), Tiana’s Place (Wonder exclusive), or Tangled: The Musical (Magic exclusive)

Bottom Line: The Disney Treasure is the most fully realized Disney Cruise Line ship to date, and the combination of Plaza de Coco, The Tale of Moana, and three extraordinary adults-only lounges inspired by beloved Disney Parks attractions makes it unlike anything else in the fleet.
