What Is a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel?

Good Neighbor Hotels Across from Disneyland | Magic in the PlanningUnlike Walt Disney World, which has numerous on-property resort hotels at multiple price points, Disneyland only has three resorts currently on Disney property. And while there’s nothing better than staying at an official Disneyland Resort, there are third-party hotels in the area that offer some more affordable options (and some pretty fantastic amenities).

Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels are essentially off-property resorts that meet particular guidelines and standards established by Disney. This ensures that you, the guest, have a high-quality Disney experience, even if you happen to be staying at a non-Disney hotel. Here are some things you can expect at a Good Neighbor Hotel:

  • Convenient and close to parks (some hotels are literally across the street)
  • Transportation to and from the parks (either complementary or for a small fee)
  • Disney Theme Park tickets can often be purchased on-site
  • Many have a Guest Services desk to assist with Disney vacation planning and ticket purchases
  • Established Disney standards for quality and service
  • Standard rooms, suites, and/or villa-style accommodations

Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels Located “Across the Street”

Disneyland Resort Entrance | Magic in the PlanningA surprising selling point to many Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels is their proximity to the park entrances. In fact, some of these hotels offer a shorter walk than both Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and the Disneyland Hotel. (The closest Disneyland Resort to the park entrances is Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, which offers its own unique entrance to California Adventure.)

All that being said, here are all of the Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels that are considered “across the street” from Disneyland. And while the majority of the Good Neighbor Hotels are far enough away to require transportation, these eleven hotels offer the option to walk to the parks and avoid the bus or car ride altogether.

Top Reviewed Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels

As we all know, some hotels are simply better than others. Here are some of the most highly reviewed Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels… in no particular order!

Marriott Courtyard Disneyland | magicintheplanning.comMy family loves this hotel. While it’s not the closest hotel to the park entrances (to be fair, it’s still considered across the street and an easy walk), it offers very spacious accommodations for families. With two queen beds, bunk beds, and a dining area, our family had plenty of room to spread out. And if that wasn’t enough, the rooms offer BOTH a tub/shower combo as well as a walk-in shower. Yes, you read that right. Two showers. Our family had no problem getting ready in the morning for the parks. And did I mention there’s a mini water park?
