Avengers Campus in California Adventure is Now Open!

The Avengers Campus in California Adventure officially opened on June 4, 2021! This brand-new area features a new attraction, unique shopping destinations, and several themed dining options. (Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! was already open and ultimately became part of the Avengers Campus area.)

Discover the enigmatic ancient sanctum’s ruins and uncover its secrets. Learn from Doctor Strange about the Orb of Cagliostro, which is especially active at night.

Avengers Headquarters

Guests will encounter “some of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and watch them spring into action to defend the Avengers command center.” Featured heroes include Iron Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Thor, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, The Wasp, The Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America, and Shang-Chi.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!

This dark ride, based on the Guardians of the Galaxy, is definitely a thrill. Be prepared for several free-fall moments like those found in the Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios in Florida. While this ride certainly has its “ups and downs” (pun intended), it isn’t necessarily scary like Tower of Terror. In fact, you will most likely find yourself laughing for most of the ride.

WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure

When Spider-Bots malfunction and get stuck in replication mode (and make their escape from a WEB Workshop), you will join Spider-Man in defeating them before they wreak havoc on the Avengers Campus. This is a brand-new, family-friendly ride that will be interactive, allowing you to take part in all the superhero action.

Additional Info: This ride offers a Single Rider Line for those who don’t mind riding alone without their party. The line is located to the left of the standby entrance. Once you enter the building, you’ll be led to the right to watch the pre-show before heading down a different hallway from other riders to get sorted into your vehicle.

Hero Encounters

Ancient Sanctum

Guests will be given the opportunity to “explore the ruins of a mysterious ancient sanctum.” Learn from Doctor Strange as he reveals “mysteries of the multiverse.” Also, this area is rumored to have “magical energy” at night, so you definitely won’t want to miss the chance to visit after dark!

Avengers Headquarters

Here you will encounter some of your favorite superheroes, including Iron Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Thor, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, the Wasp, and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Recruits will even be given the opportunity to train with Black Panther’s bodyguards – the Dora Milaje. (Rumor has it that you may even see some high-flying action from Spider-Man!)
