Hollywood Studios Rides and Attractions: The Complete 2026 Guide

Hollywood Studios Rides and Attractions - Magic in the Planning

By Alyssa Howard

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is one of those parks that grabs you from the moment you walk in. The theming is immersive, the rides are intense, and the shows are genuinely world-class. It’s a smaller park than Magic Kingdom or Epcot, which means it’s also one of the most efficient to experience in a single day if you know what you’re doing. From the chaos of Galaxy’s Edge to the nostalgia of Sunset Boulevard to the brand-new energy of the reimagined Animation Courtyard, there is a lot happening here right now.

This is your complete guide to Hollywood Studios rides and attractions, organized by land, with Lightning Lane details, height requirements, and tips to help you make the most of your day.

Hollywood Studios Lightning Lane: What You Need to Know

Before diving into the Hollywood Studios rides and attractions themselves, it’s worth understanding how Lightning Lane works here, because this park has some of the most in-demand attractions at all of Walt Disney World and your choices matter more than at any other park.

Hollywood Studios uses the same tiered Lightning Lane Multi Pass system as Magic Kingdom and Epcot. You can pre-book up to three experiences per day: one from Tier 1 and two from Tier 2, or all three from Tier 2 if you prefer. The Lightning Lane Single Pass covers the one attraction that sits above the Multi Pass system entirely. There is also a Lightning Lane Premier Pass for front-of-line access across nearly all attractions.

Disney Resort guests can purchase and pre-book Multi Pass selections 7 days before their first park day. All other guests can book 3 days in advance. Bookings open at 7:00 a.m. Eastern.

Lightning Lane Single Pass (purchased separately):

  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Tier 1 (choose up to one when pre-booking):

  • Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
  • Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets
  • Slinky Dog Dash

Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Tier 2 (choose your remaining selections from this group, or all three):

  • Alien Swirling Saucers
  • Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage
  • Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!
  • For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration
  • Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!
  • The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure
  • Star Tours: The Adventures Continue
  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
  • Toy Story Mania!

My general advice: use your Tier 1 pre-booking on Slinky Dog Dash, which consistently has the longest waits in the park, or Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets, which is brand new as of May 2026 and will have elevated demand all summer. For Tier 2, Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania are your best picks. Save the shows (Frozen Sing-Along, Indiana Jones, Beauty and the Beast) for later in the day when standby waits are naturally shorter.

Animation Courtyard Rides and Attractions

Animation Courtyard has just been reimagined as the Walt Disney Studios Courtyard, opening on May 26, 2026, as part of Disney’s Cool Kids’ Summer celebration. The area pays homage to the history and artistry of Disney animation, with new character handprints and footprints throughout the courtyard, a sweeping mural of beloved Disney animated films, and a new Disney Jr. stage show that opened the same day. The Magic of Disney Animation experience, housed in the former Star Wars Launch Bay building, is coming in late summer 2026. For now, three attractions are open here.

Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!

Brand new as of May 26, 2026, Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! is an interactive 20-minute stage show inspired by Disney Jr.’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ series. Mickey and Minnie are throwing a party, but their friends Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto are nowhere to be found. Guests of all ages help search for them through music, audience participation, and plenty of dancing, ending with everyone back together for the big celebration. It’s warm, energetic, and genuinely fun even for adults.

Walt Disney Presents

Walt Disney Presents is a self-guided walk-through exhibit celebrating the life, legacy, and creative vision of Walt Disney. It features personal memorabilia, concept art, scale models of park attractions, and a short film about Walt himself. It’s a quiet, genuinely moving experience that tends to be overlooked by guests rushing to the bigger attractions, and it’s especially meaningful for anyone with a deep love of Disney history.

  • Height Restrictions: Any height
  • Lightning Lane: No
  • Attraction Length: N/A (self-guided)
  • Who Should Enjoy: Anyone, especially Disney history fans
  • When to Visit: Anytime, great for midday when larger attractions are crowded

Echo Lake Rides and Attractions

Echo Lake is Hollywood Studios’ nod to classic Hollywood glamour, centered around a shimmering lagoon and home to some of the park’s most entertaining experiences. Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! is the anchor attraction here, one of the most impressive live shows at any Disney park. Echo Lake also has a fun little gem in the Frozen Sing-Along and a Star Tours ride that stays fresh through its randomized adventure combinations.

For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration

This 30-minute show invites guests to sing along to beloved songs from Frozen, hosted by two Royal Historians of Arendelle who narrate the story of Anna and Elsa with plenty of humor and heart. Elsa herself makes an appearance for a spectacular finale. It’s hosted in an air-conditioned theater, which makes it an excellent midday option, and it genuinely works for guests of all ages.

  • Attraction Length: About 30 minutes
  • Who Should Enjoy: Anyone, especially Frozen fans

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!

This is one of the best shows at Walt Disney World, full stop. The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! runs for about 30 minutes and takes guests behind the scenes of a live action film shoot, recreating iconic scenes from Raiders of the Lost Ark with real pyrotechnics, massive set pieces, and professional stunt performers. It is genuinely thrilling and always worth the time, no matter how many times you’ve seen it.

  • Lightning Lane: Yes (Multi Pass, Tier 2)

Star Tours: The Adventures Continue

Star Tours is a classic simulator attraction that sends you on a randomized Star Wars mission, with dozens of possible adventure combinations drawn from across the saga. No two rides are exactly alike, which keeps it endlessly replayable. The ride is smooth but does move, so it may not be ideal for guests prone to motion sickness.

  • Height Restrictions: 40 inches or taller
  • Lightning Lane: Yes (Multi Pass, Tier 2)
  • Attraction Length: About 5 minutes
  • Who Should Ride: Anyone who meets the height requirement

Vacation Fun: An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie

This short animated film featuring Mickey and Minnie plays in the theater at Echo Lake and is a charming, low-key experience perfect for a quick break. It’s not a major attraction, but it’s a sweet option for families with young children who need a rest.

  • Height Restrictions: Any height
  • Lightning Lane: No
  • Attraction Length: About 8 minutes
  • Who Should Enjoy: Anyone, especially younger children
  • When to Visit: Anytime

Hollywood Boulevard Rides and Attractions

Hollywood Boulevard is the main entrance corridor of Hollywood Studios, styled after the golden age of Hollywood with art deco architecture and classic movie studio charm. It’s also home to one of the most popular attractions in the entire park, so heading here at rope drop is strongly recommended if Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is on your must-do list.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is one of the most creative and technically impressive rides at Walt Disney World. There are no height requirements, no 3D glasses, and no straightforward plot logic, because you’re inside a cartoon and anything can happen. The trackless ride system sends your car careening through colorful, gag-filled scenes alongside Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and a very unreliable train engineer, with a soundtrack that will absolutely stay with you for the rest of your day.

  • Height Restrictions: Any height
  • Lightning Lane: Yes (Multi Pass, Tier 1)
  • Attraction Length: About 5 minutes
  • Who Should Ride: Anyone
  • When to Visit: Rope drop or anytime with a LL Multi Pass
  • Open for Early Entry: Yes
  • Ride Photo: No
  • Additional Info: The queue is beautifully themed inside the old Chinese Theatre and is worth taking your time through even on a busy day.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Rides and Attractions

Galaxy’s Edge is one of the most ambitious theme park lands ever built, a fully immersive recreation of the planet Batuu where guests become part of the Star Wars story. It’s stunning to walk through even before you ride anything, with its alien flora, salvaged spacecraft, and roaming Stormtroopers creating an atmosphere unlike anywhere else at Walt Disney World. The two rides here are among the best in the resort, and both are high-demand experiences that require planning.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

You get to fly the Millennium Falcon. That’s the pitch, and it delivers. This interactive simulator puts guests in control of the most famous ship in the galaxy, with each rider assigned a role as pilot, gunner, or engineer. Pilots have the most control over the experience, so if that’s your dream, speak up when your group boards. The ride changes based on how well your crew performs, which makes it endlessly fun to compare scores.

  • Height Restrictions: 38 inches or taller
  • Lightning Lane: Yes (Multi Pass, Tier 1)
  • Attraction Length: About 5 minutes
  • Who Should Ride: Anyone who meets the height requirement
  • When to Visit: Rope drop or anytime with a LL Multi Pass

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Rise of the Resistance Pre-Show at Hollywood Studios | magicintheplanning.com

Rise of the Resistance is one of the most extraordinary theme park attractions ever created, and that is not an overstatement. This multi-room experience puts guests inside a massive First Order Star Destroyer, where you are captured, interrogated, and then rescued in an escape sequence involving trackless ride vehicles, enormous sets, and a finale that is genuinely jaw-dropping every single time. It is long, it is immersive, and it is absolutely worth a Lightning Lane Single Pass if your budget allows.

  • Height Restrictions: 40 inches or taller
  • Lightning Lane: Yes (Single Pass only)
  • Attraction Length: About 18 minutes
  • Who Should Ride: Anyone who meets the height requirement
  • When to Visit: First hour of the day via standby, or anytime with a Lightning Lane Single Pass
  • Open for Early Entry: No
  • Ride Photo: No
  • Additional Info: Rider Switch is available. Check in with a Cast Member with your entire party to use this option.

Sunset Boulevard Rides and Attractions

Sunset Boulevard is Hollywood Studios at its most theatrical. This is where you’ll find two of the park’s most iconic thrill rides, a brand-new Muppets coaster, a Disney Villains stage show, and the beloved Beauty and the Beast outdoor theater. It’s one of the best-looking areas in all of Walt Disney World, especially as the sun goes down and the Tower of Terror looms at the end of the boulevard.

Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage

This classic outdoor Broadway-style show has been a Hollywood Studios staple for decades, and it holds up beautifully. Set in the Theater of the Stars, it features live performers, stunning costumes, and all of the most beloved songs from the film, performed with real enthusiasm and theatrical flair. It’s a wonderful experience for the whole family and a great option during the hottest part of the afternoon, since the theater has shade and sometimes a breeze.

  • Height Restrictions: Any height
  • Lightning Lane: Yes (Multi Pass, Tier 2)
  • Attraction Length: About 25 minutes
  • Who Should Enjoy: Anyone, especially Beauty and the Beast fans
  • When to Visit: Multiple showtimes throughout the day; check the My Disney Experience app
  • Open for Early Entry: No
  • Ride Photo: No

Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After

This live stage show, which opened in May 2025, takes place in the Sunset Showcase theater at the back of Sunset Boulevard. The Magic Mirror has summoned the audience to settle a very important debate: which Disney Villain has been treated most unfairly? Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent each take the stage in live production numbers to make their case, with dozens of other iconic villains making appearances throughout. It’s theatrical, funny, and genuinely well-produced.

  • Height Restrictions: Any height
  • Lightning Lane: No
  • Attraction Length: About 20 minutes
  • Who Should Enjoy: Anyone, especially Disney Villains fans
  • When to Visit: Multiple showtimes throughout the day; check the My Disney Experience app
  • Open for Early Entry: No

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets

The Muppets have officially taken over one of Hollywood Studios’ most legendary rides, and the result is exactly as chaotic and wonderful as you’d hope. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets opened on May 26, 2026, reimagining the former Aerosmith coaster into a wild Muppets concert caper. The Electric Mayhem is headlining their biggest Hollywood show ever, but they’re running very late, and you’re getting a VIP tour of G-Force Records when everything goes hilariously off the rails. The ride system is the same as before: a high-speed launch into darkness, inversions, and a pulse-pounding ride in the dark. The soundtrack now features The Electric Mayhem performing alongside celebrity guests including Jennifer Hudson, Questlove, and Def Leppard, and the first-ever Audio-Animatronic of Scooter anchors the pre-show. Expect high demand all summer.

  • Height Restrictions: 48 inches or taller
  • Lightning Lane: Yes (Multi Pass, Tier 1)
  • Attraction Length: About 2 minutes
  • Who Should Ride: Anyone who meets the height requirement and enjoys roller coasters
  • When to Visit: Rope drop or anytime with a LL Multi Pass. This is a top Tier 1 priority for thrill seekers in 2026.
  • Open for Early Entry: No
  • Ride Photo: Yes

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in Hollywood Studios | magicintheplanning.com

The Tower of Terror is one of the great theme park attractions anywhere in the world, and it remains one of the crown jewels of Hollywood Studios. The experience begins with a walk through the crumbling Hollywood Tower Hotel, past cobwebs and dusty furniture, into an elevator that takes you through the Twilight Zone and then drops you, repeatedly and unpredictably, in a randomized sequence of falls. The theming, the storytelling, and the drops all combine into something genuinely unforgettable.

  • Height Restrictions: 40 inches or taller
  • Lightning Lane: Yes (Multi Pass, Tier 2)
  • Attraction Length: About 10 minutes
  • Who Should Ride: Anyone who meets the height requirement and enjoys drop rides

Toy Story Land Rides and Attractions

Toy Story Land is one of the most charming areas at Hollywood Studios, dropping guests into Andy’s backyard at the scale of a toy. Everything here is oversized in exactly the right way, from the giant Lincoln Logs and Tinkertoys scattered around the landscape to the crayon-colored queue of Slinky Dog Dash winding overhead. It’s a land that genuinely feels designed for fun, and all three attractions here are crowd-pleasers for guests of every age.

Alien Swirling Saucers

The Little Green Men have taken over their favorite toy, and they want to take you for a spin! This colorful spinning ride sends your rocket car twirling around a galaxy of flying saucers in Andy’s room, with a fun soundtrack and plenty of bright lights. It’s gentler than it looks and a great option for younger guests.
