Epcot Rides and Attractions: The Complete 2026 Guide

|
The Complete Guide to Epcot Rides and Attractions | Magic in the Planning

By Alyssa Howard

Epcot is unlike any other theme park at Walt Disney World, and honestly, unlike any other theme park in the world. It doesn’t fit neatly into a category. It’s part science museum, part world’s fair, part thrill park, and part international food and culture destination, and somehow it manages to pull all of that off at once. Whether you’re riding one of the best roller coasters in Florida, eating your way around eleven countries, or watching a film about the water cycle with your kids, Epcot has a way of making you feel like you’ve actually been somewhere.

The park is divided into four distinct neighborhoods: World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature, and World Showcase. Each has its own personality and its own lineup of experiences. This complete guide to Epcot rides and attractions breaks them all down by neighborhood so you know exactly what to expect before you go.

Epcot Lightning Lane: What You Need to Know

Before diving into the Epcot rides and attractions themselves, it helps to understand how Lightning Lane works at Epcot, because the tier structure here is a little different from the other parks and it affects how you plan your day.

Epcot offers three Lightning Lane options. The Lightning Lane Multi Pass lets you pre-book up to three experiences per day with arrival windows. Selections are tiered: you choose one attraction from Tier 1 and two from Tier 2, or all three from Tier 2 if you prefer. The Lightning Lane Single Pass is purchased separately and covers the one highest-demand attraction in the park. There is also a Lightning Lane Premier Pass, which provides front-of-line access across nearly all attractions for a premium price.

Disney Resort guests can purchase and pre-book Multi Pass selections 7 days before their first park day. All other guests can book 3 days in advance. Bookings open at 7:00 a.m. Eastern.

Lightning Lane Single Pass (purchased separately):

  • Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Tier 1 (choose up to one when pre-booking):

  • Frozen Ever After
  • Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
  • Test Track

Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Tier 2 (choose your remaining selections from this group, or all three):

  • Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival
  • Journey Into Imagination With Figment
  • Living with the Land
  • Mission: SPACE
  • The Seas with Nemo & Friends
  • Soarin’ Across America
  • Spaceship Earth
  • Turtle Talk With Crush

My general advice: use your Tier 1 pre-booking on Frozen Ever After or Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, since those tend to have the longest and most consistent waits. For Tier 2, Soarin’ Across America is the clear priority. Save Living with the Land, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, and Turtle Talk with Crush for later in the day when the waits are naturally shorter.

World Celebration Rides and Attractions

World Celebration is the first neighborhood you encounter as you enter Epcot through the main gate, anchored by the iconic Spaceship Earth geodesic sphere. Beyond the marquee attraction, this area is home to Journey Into Imagination With Figment, the beloved Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival, and a handful of interactive experiences worth exploring. It tends to be one of the more manageable areas of the park crowd-wise, with the exception of Spaceship Earth first thing in the morning.

Spaceship Earth in Epcot at Walt Disney World | magicintheplanning.com

Spaceship Earth

Spaceship Earth is the symbol of Epcot and one of the most recognizable structures in all of Walt Disney World. The ride itself is a slow, thoughtful dark ride through the history of human communication, from cave paintings to the digital age, narrated as you spiral up and then back down through the iconic geodesic sphere. Near the end, a photo of your group is taken and used in a fun interactive segment on your ride vehicle screen. It’s a classic, and it earns that title every single time.

  • Height Restrictions: Any height
  • Lightning Lane: Yes (Multi Pass, Tier 2)
  • Attraction Length: About 15 minutes
  • Who Should Ride: Anyone
  • When to Visit: Avoid it first thing in the morning when the line builds quickly as guests enter the park. Midday or late afternoon works much better.
  • Open for Early Entry: Yes
  • Ride Photo: No

Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival

Inside the Magic Eye Theater, guests enjoy a 4D film experience featuring three animated shorts from Disney and Pixar Studios. It’s funny, visually delightful, and a genuinely great way to get off your feet in the middle of a busy day. The 4D effects are gentle enough for young children and entertaining enough for adults who’ve seen everything else in the park a dozen times.

  • Height Restrictions: Any height
  • Lightning Lane: Yes (Multi Pass, Tier 2)
  • Attraction Length: About 18 minutes
  • Who Should Enjoy: Anyone
  • When to Visit: Anytime, especially great as a midday break
  • Open for Early Entry: No
  • Ride Photo: No

Journey Into Imagination With Figment in EPCOT at Disney World | magicintheplanning.com

Journey Into Imagination With Figment

Join Figment, Epcot’s beloved purple dragon, on a slow-moving dark ride through the Imagination Institute, where the five senses serve as the framework for a playful exploration of creativity. Figment has been a fan favorite since the early days of Epcot, and this ride captures exactly why. At the end, guests exit into ImageWorks, an interactive play area with sensory activities and games.

  • Height Restrictions: Any height
  • Lightning Lane: Yes (Multi Pass, Tier 2)
  • Attraction Length: About 6 minutes
  • Who Should Ride: Anyone
  • When to Visit: Anytime
  • Open for Early Entry: No
  • Ride Photo: No

ImageWorks – The “What If” Labs

Located at the exit of Journey Into Imagination With Figment, ImageWorks is a free-play interactive area where kids can experiment with sensory activities, digital games, and imagination-themed exhibits. It’s a great spot to let little ones run around while adults take a breather.

Project Tomorrow: Inventing the Wonders of the Future

Found at the exit of Spaceship Earth, Project Tomorrow is an interactive exhibit where guests can explore high-tech science displays and activities inspired by the themes of the ride. It’s self-paced and entirely optional, but worth a few minutes if you have curious kids in your group.

  • Height Restrictions: Any height
  • Lightning Lane: No
  • Attraction Length: N/A
  • Who Should Enjoy: Anyone
  • When to Visit: Anytime
  • Open for Early Entry: No

World Discovery Rides and Attractions

World Discovery is Epcot’s most thrilling neighborhood, bringing together science, space, technology, and speed under one roof (well, several very large roofs). This is where you’ll find Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, the reimagined Test Track, and Mission: SPACE. If your group includes thrill seekers, this area will be a priority. Rope drop strategy matters here more than anywhere else in the park.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT | magicintheplanning.com

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is one of the most thrilling rides at Walt Disney World and an easy highlight of any Epcot visit. This enormous indoor coaster features a reverse launch (a first for Disney), ride vehicles that rotate 360 degrees so you always face the action, and a killer soundtrack that changes each ride. It’s genuinely spectacular and unlike anything else in the park. A standard standby queue is now available alongside the Lightning Lane Single Pass option.

  • Height Restrictions: 42 inches or taller
  • Lightning Lane: Yes (Single Pass only)
  • Attraction Length: About 3 minutes
  • Who Should Ride: Anyone who meets the height requirement (note: the rotating vehicles can cause motion sickness for some guests)
  • When to Visit: First hour of the day via standby, or anytime with a Lightning Lane Single Pass
  • Open for Early Entry: No
  • Ride Photo: Yes. (Taken during the turnaround after the reverse launch.)
  • Additional Info: Rider Switch is available. One adult can wait with non-riders while the rest of the party rides, then board without waiting in the standby line. Check in with a Cast Member with your entire party to use this option.

Mission SPACE in EPCOT at Walt Disney World | magicintheplanning.com

Mission: SPACE

Mission: SPACE puts you through a simulated space mission in a centrifuge-style capsule, and there are two very different versions of the experience. The Orange Mission simulates the G-forces of an actual launch and Mars landing, which is genuinely intense. The Green Mission is a much gentler orbit around Earth with no spinning at all. If you’re visiting with kids or anyone prone to motion sickness, the Green Mission is the right call, and it almost always has a shorter wait.

  • Height Restrictions: 40 inches or taller for the Green Mission; 44 inches or taller for the Orange Mission
  • Lightning Lane: Yes (Multi Pass, Tier 2)
  • Attraction Length: About 5-6 minutes
  • Who Should Ride: Anyone who meets the height requirement
  • When to Visit: Anytime after the first hour of the day, or anytime with a LL Multi Pass
  • Open for Early Entry: Yes
  • Ride Photo: No
  • Additional Info: Rider Switch is available. Check in with a Cast Member with your entire party to use this option.

Test Track

Test Track returned in July 2025 as its third reimagining, and it is better for it. The new version, presented by General Motors, takes you through the eyes of an intelligent vehicle as it navigates the world around it, showcasing current and future automotive technology across a series of new show scenes. The iconic 65-mph outdoor finale is still very much intact. The former car design pre-show is gone, the queue is all new, and a single rider line is available alongside the standard standby and Lightning Lane options.

  • Height Restrictions: 40 inches or taller
  • Lightning Lane: Yes (Multi Pass, Tier 1)
  • Attraction Length: About 5 minutes
  • Who Should Ride: Anyone who meets the height requirement
  • When to Visit: First hour of the day or anytime with a LL Multi Pass. The single rider line is also a great option if you don’t mind splitting up from your group.
  • Open for Early Entry: Yes
  • Ride Photo: Yes. (Taken during the outdoor portion of the track.)
  • Additional Info: Rider Switch is available. Check in with a Cast Member with your entire party to use this option.

Advanced Training Lab

Located near Mission: SPACE, this interactive play area lets young space adventurers train for their next Mars mission through space-themed games and activities. It’s a great way to keep kids entertained while other members of your group tackle the more intense Orange Mission.

  • Height Restrictions: Any height
  • Lightning Lane: No
  • Attraction Length: N/A
  • Who Should Enjoy: Anyone, especially younger children
  • When to Visit: Anytime
  • Open for Early Entry: No

World Nature Rides and Attractions

World Nature is Epcot at its most serene and educational. This neighborhood is home to The Land and The Seas pavilions, two of the most unique and quietly wonderful spaces in any Disney park. You’ll find everything from a gentle boat ride through working greenhouses to an immersive aquarium experience to an outdoor water trail inspired by Moana. It’s a wonderful area to slow down and explore, especially with younger children.

Soarin’ Across America

Soarin’ is one of Epcot’s most beloved attractions, and as of May 26, 2026, it is showing a brand-new limited-time film: Soarin’ Across America, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States. The new film takes you on a sweeping simulated flight from coast to coast, soaring over the Grand Canyon, Denali, New York City, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and more, complete with a new orchestration of the classic Soarin’ theme and signature in-theater scents. The format is the same as always: a massive 80-foot IMAX-style screen, gentle motion, and breathtaking aerial views. This version is running for a limited time, so it’s worth prioritizing on your visit.

  • Height Restrictions: 40 inches or taller
  • Lightning Lane: Yes (Multi Pass, Tier 2)
  • Attraction Length: About 5 minutes
  • Who Should Ride: Anyone who meets the height requirement
  • When to Visit: First hour of the day or anytime with a LL Multi Pass. Soarin’ is the top Tier 2 priority at Epcot right now, so book it early.

Living with the Land

This gentle boat ride through The Land pavilion is one of Epcot’s most underrated attractions. After the ride, the SeaBase aquarium is free to explore at your own pace, with exhibits on coral reefs, sea turtles, manatees, sharks, rays, and more. It’s genuinely impressive and often overlooked by guests rushing to the next attraction.

  • Height Restrictions: Any height

  • Attraction Length: About 5 minutes (plus as long as you’d like in SeaBase)
  • Who Should Ride: Anyone

Turtle Talk With Crush

Crush from Finding Nemo holds court in this live, interactive show where the animated sea turtle has a real conversation with the audience in real time. It uses impressive technology to let Crush respond naturally to questions and comments from guests, and it genuinely never gets old. Kids absolutely love it, and adults are usually just as charmed.

Awesome Planet

This 10-minute film in The Land pavilion tells the story of life on Earth using stunning cinematography and in-theater effects, including wind, mist, and scent. This self-guided outdoor trail lets guests play and interact with water as it moves through the natural water cycle, inspired by the world of Moana. World Showcase Rides and Attractions

World Showcase is what makes Epcot truly one of a kind. Eleven country pavilions line a 1.2-mile loop around World Showcase Lagoon, each representing its country through architecture, food, entertainment, merchandise, and cultural exhibits. It is simultaneously a theme park area and one of the best dining destinations in all of Walt Disney World. Most of the “attractions” here are films, galleries, and interactive experiences rather than traditional rides, but Frozen Ever After and Gran Fiesta Tour are genuine crowd-pleasers, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure (in the France pavilion) is one of the most in-demand rides in the entire park.

Frozen Ever After

Set in the Norway pavilion, Frozen Ever After is a boat ride through the world of Frozen, traveling from Arendelle to Elsa’s ice castle and back with beloved songs, beautifully detailed scenes, and a small drop at the end that may get you a little wet. It’s one of the most popular rides at Epcot and consistently one of the longest waits in World Showcase, so plan accordingly.
