Disney World in June: Weather, Crowds, Events & What to Expect in 2026

|

The summer months have always been a popular time to visit Walt Disney World, and June is no exception. With schools across the country letting out for summer break, it’s naturally a busier time of year. That said, crowd patterns have shifted in recent years. With Disney hosting festivals, special events, and parties throughout the year, attendance has spread out more than it used to. Some guests even argue that summer crowds can feel more manageable than fall and winter, when holiday parties and runDisney events draw large numbers.

If you’re planning a trip to Disney World in June, the biggest factor to prepare for isn’t necessarily the crowds — it’s the heat. Orlando’s summer temperatures and humidity are no joke. While wait times may not be quite as intense as they once were, the weather can be challenging.

Still, with a solid plan, plenty of hydration, and maybe a trusty misting fan in hand, Disney World in June can absolutely be a fun and memorable time to visit.

June At-a-Glance

  • Don’t forget to pack your sunscreen! Temperatures in June are definitely heating up! The summer sun in Florida can also be a bit intense. And while Disney offers many ways to cool off, you will definitely want to be prepared with sunscreen.
  • Mornings are a great time to visit the pools. Due to the hotter temperatures, the pools can get quite busy during the heat of the day as well as in the evenings when guests return from a day in the parks. Consider visiting in the mornings when they will be less busy.
  • Major refurbishments are not typically common in June. Disney tends to schedule their refurbishments during less busy seasons, but that doesn’t mean closures can’t or won’t happen in June. This is especially true of longer refurbishments, which can take months to complete.

June Events

There are currently no major events scheduled for June 2026, but we will keep you posted as Disney makes announcements for next year!

Walt Disney World (as well as ESPN Wide World of Sports) typically hosts several athletic events each month. These events don’t usually have a major impact on crowds in the parks, but they will likely affect resort availability and crowds at Disney’s value resorts. Here are the events scheduled so far in June:

With no major holidays in the month of June, one might think that the parks are less crowded, but this is simply not the case. Most schools are finishing up during the month of June, which makes it a peak time for Disney World vacations, especially near the end of the month. Father’s Day falls on June 15, 2025, but this shouldn’t affect crowds too much. Just be sure to make any special dinner reservations early.

June Weather

Overall, the weather in Orlando is quite hot in June. The average high is around 90 degrees, with lows typically near 71 degrees — and you’ll definitely feel the humidity.

June also marks the start of Orlando’s rainy season. The good news? Most rain showers tend to come in short afternoon bursts rather than lasting all day. Quick downpours are very common, so packing ponchos (or a lightweight rain jacket) is a smart move.

And while rain isn’t always ideal, it’s usually far better than the hurricanes that can become a concern later in the season. If you can handle the heat — and plan around those afternoon showers — Disney World in June can still be a great time to visit.

June Disney World Crowd Calendar

Mission Space in Epcot | magicintheplanning.comCrowd calendars are very popular, but they can also be a bit unpredictable. It’s best not to completely rely on them when making your Disney World vacation plans.

While crowd calendars can be a big help in knowing what to expect, keep in mind that they are predictions at best. When designing our calendars, we take a look at events, school calendars, ticket prices, park hours, holidays, and typical monthly patterns. But unfortunately, our crowd calendars cannot predict other things, such as weather, travel advisories, pandemics, or last-minute openings or closings of shows and attractions.

On top of that, many are choosing to travel differently. Quiet months have become popular due to runDisney events as well as other Disney events and promotions, while busier seasons have seen a downward trend in the last couple of years.

Most of June will be busy, and the crowds typically increase as the month goes on and schools release their students for summer break. Of the summer months, June is slightly less hot, but it is also a little more crowded because of it. If planning to travel during the summer to Walt Disney World, it may come down to heat versus crowds. If the crowds don’t bother you, June can be a great time to visit Disney.
