The Ultimate Guide to Table Service Dining in Disneyland 2024

|

Let’s talk about table service dining in Disneyland. When visiting a Disney park, I always try to make at least one reservation per day for a meal that we actually get to sit down and enjoy. Not only does it gives us an opportunity to rest from the walking (or perhaps even the weather), but it also allows us to regroup and connect as a family over a quality meal.

Table service dining at any Disney park is designed to be an experience from start to finish. From uniquely themed restaurants to nostalgic favorites, Disneyland offers a variety of choices for just about any palette. And if you’re a food fanatic like me, you know that a quality dining experience can be just as exciting as the park attractions and rides.

Disney Mainstreet U.S.A. Transportation | magicintheplanning.comThere are definitely some things to keep in mind when deciding on table service dining in Disneyland. First of all, if the restaurant of your choice allows you to make a reservation, we highly recommend doing so! Many of these restaurants offer one-of-a-kind experiences that you wouldn’t want to miss because they happen to be fully booked. It is not always possible to walk up to a restaurant and get a table… especially during holidays or busier seasons.

All that being said, here is our table service guide for dining in Disneyland! Enjoy!

Casual Dining

This Creole-inspired restaurant in Disneyland offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Some would argue that it is perhaps the best table service dining in Disneyland in terms of food. It is worth mentioning that they are known for their Monte Cristo, which is a battered turkey, ham and Swiss sandwich dusted with powdered sugar and served with berry purée. (Yum!) And be sure to save room for the Mickey beignets!

Carnation Cafe in Disneyland | Magic in the PlanningCan someone say comfort food? Located right on Mainstreet, U.S.A., this restaurant serves American cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Due to its popularity (and lower price point), reservations are highly recommended… especially for breakfast. And with a great menu that will appeal to the whole family, you can’t go wrong!

This table service restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. It opened in 1955 on the opening day of Disneyland, and it is rumored to be a favorite breakfast spot of Walt Disney. So needless to say, this place has a lot of history.

With a classic Southern menu, you can gaze upon the Rivers of America as you enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner. For breakfast, they offer items such as the short rib skillet, the Mark Twain all-American breakfast, and Becky Thatcher’s fried green tomato. Lunch and dinner options include salads, sandwiches, fresh fish, and barbecued ribs, chicken or beef. I personally have not eaten here since it was converted from a counter-service restaurant, but it’s definitely on my list.

The Blue Bayou Restaurant in Disneyland | Magic in the Planning

On my first visit to Disneyland, my family rode the Pirates of the Caribbean. It was at that time that my mom told me that as a little girl, she always dreamed of eating at the Blue Bayou Restaurant. If you’ve never been on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Disneyland, this restaurant is located just inside and you get a unique view of its amazing atmosphere as you pass by in your boat.

When it comes to table service dining in Disneyland, this unique restaurant is one of the park’s most well-known establishments. So when my mom and I finally made our way to Disneyland for a special girls’ only vacation, eating here was a must! I can honestly say that it was worth the wait! We experienced New Orleans “at night” by lanterns, complete with crickets chirping off in the distance. So if you enjoy a Louisiana-inspired menu, this place is a definite must. There is a higher price tag, for sure, but the atmosphere is something you have to experience at least once!

Oga’s Cantina at the Disneyland Resort

This table service dining option is technically a lounge as it does not provide a lot in terms of meals, but rather drinks and snacks. However, it is one of the most uniquely themed experiences you can get when it comes to dining in Disneyland. Have you ever wanted to step inside the Star Wars universe and enjoy a drink with friends? This extremely popular destination provides you with an opportunity unlike any other to do just that.

Menu options include both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as snacks such as the Happabore Sampler (cured meats, artisan cheeses, crackers, etc.) and Batuu Bits (“a light crisp Snack Mix from the galaxy”). While many adults enjoy the atmosphere, it definitely isn’t adults-only. With so much on the menu for kids to enjoy, this definitely provides a unique opportunity that families can enjoy together.
